What products do you use for pimples?

You don't need a closet full of products for pimples. A gentle cleanser, one serum with a proven ingredient, a light cream that restores your skin, and sunscreen every morning. That's the whole basic routine. Simple and consistently maintained always works better than ten steps mixed up.

What is the best routine for pimples?

A simple routine with mild steps is the most effective. You start with a mild cleanser that doesn't dry out your skin. Then, you apply one serum with an active ingredient that suits your skin. You hydrate with a light cream, and during the day, you protect your skin with sunscreen. The simpler, the greater the chance your skin will calm down and you'll stick with it.

Step What you use Why
1. Cleansing A mild cleanser Removes sebum and dirt without drying out your skin
2. Serum One serum with a proven ingredient Targets your pimples and imperfections
3. Hydrating A light cream Restores your skin and keeps it balanced
4. Protecting Sunscreen, every morning Prevents spots and keeps inflammation calm

Notice it's only one serum? That's intentional. You don't need two or three serums. One well-chosen active, consistently used, does the job.

Which cleanser should you choose?

A mild, sulfate-free cleanser cleanses without drying out your skin. It removes excess sebum and dirt, leaving your skin barrier intact. The rule of thumb: if your skin doesn't feel tight after washing, you're good. Our Calming Cleanser is designed for exactly that. More options can be found among the cleansers for acne.

Which serum do you use for pimples?

Choose one serum with a proven ingredient that suits your skin. There are only a handful of ingredients truly shown to work for acne. Azelaic acid is often the gentlest first choice for hormonal and sensitive acne because it targets pimples while simultaneously fading redness and spots. Niacinamide calms and strengthens your skin. Gentle fruit acids like mandelic acid loosen dead skin cells. And bakuchiol is a plant-based, gentler option. For us, azelaic acid is in the Clearing Serum. We calmly explain which ingredient suits you in which ingredients really work against acne.

And benzoyl peroxide, which you see everywhere online? I'll be honest about it. It works, but it's very drying and quickly irritating.

Which cream works best for pimples?

A light cream that restores your skin without clogging your pores works best. Ingredients like niacinamide, panthenol, zinc PCA, and ceramide NP strengthen your skin barrier, NMF ingredients (urea, sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Fructose, Glycine, Inositol), so your skin is less likely to become red, dry, or sensitive. This supports recovery without leaving a greasy layer. That's exactly what's in moisturizers adapted to your acne skin type.

Can a serum make my acne worse?

A serum can temporarily cause purging at first, but true worsening is usually due to irritation. Purging means existing blockages come to the surface a bit faster, especially in areas where you already had pimples. That subsides. If a serum continues to feel painful or burning, your skin is reacting sensitively, and it's better to build up more gently.

How do you gradually introduce active products?

Start with twice a week and only increase if your skin tolerates it well. This gives your skin time to get used to it, without unnecessary redness or dryness. If everything feels good after two to three weeks, you can increase frequency. Slow build-up is really key here.

How long does it take to see results?

You usually see a difference after four to eight weeks, and optimal results around three months. Acne responds slowly, so it's normal for your skin to take some time to calm down. That doesn't mean your routine isn't working. Often, it's just a matter of patience and perseverance.

I understand you'd prefer to see results tomorrow. You want to look well-groomed, at work and just for yourself, without spending half an hour in the bathroom every morning. That's precisely why we keep it simple. A few good products, consistently used, and time to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I exfoliate for acne?

One to three times a week is usually enough. If you exfoliate too often, your skin becomes irritated and can actually get more inflamed. If your skin becomes red or tight, that's a sign to take it easy.

Do I need to double cleanse?

Double cleansing can be useful if you wear makeup or sunscreen, but it's not a must. The first cleanse removes makeup and sunscreen, the second cleanses your skin itself. Only use gentle products that don't damage your skin barrier.

What if my skin gets dry during my routine?

Dryness usually means your skin barrier is temporarily overloaded. Use your active products less frequently and temporarily simplify your routine. A cream with niacinamide or ceramides will calm your skin down again.

When should I stop using a product?

Stop when your skin hurts, burns, becomes very red, or continues to flake. These are signs that your skin is getting too much stimulation. A healthy skin barrier is always more important than quickly tackling acne.
